A wide wrist suits a bracelet in a fixed size L, a longer length or a bold design best. Add about 1.5 to 2 centimetres to your wrist size. If your wrist measures 18 centimetres, you are looking for a bracelet of around 19.5 to 20 centimetres.
A wide wrist is no disadvantage at all. In fact, larger beads and eye catching stacks look especially good on a wide wrist. You just need to know what to look for.
When do you have a wide wrist?
The easiest way to recognise a wide wrist is to compare it with the average.
Compare with the average
The average wrist size of a woman is between 16 and 18 centimetres. Does your wrist measure more than 18 centimetres? Then you can call it wide. Do you have a slender wrist instead? Then read our blog about a bracelet for a slim wrist.
Measure the wrist where you wear the bracelet
Your writing hand is often slightly sturdier than your other hand. So always measure the wrist where the bracelet will actually sit. A difference of half a centimetre seems small, but you do feel it.

Which length do you choose for a wide wrist?
The right length depends on the type of bracelet you choose.
Bangles and tennis bracelets in size L
Bangles and tennis bracelets come in a fixed size. Size L is 19.5 centimetres and fits a wrist of about 18 centimetres well. These models are made of 925 sterling silver with a gold plated or rhodium plated finish. With a bangle you also look at your hand. How to work that out is explained in our blog on how to calculate the diameter of a bracelet.
Stretchy beaded bracelets
Stretchy beaded bracelets have a length of 18 centimetres. The elastic stretches with you, but on a wide wrist a bracelet like this sits close. So don't stretch it more than needed when you put it on. If it feels tight, a model with a fixed size L is often more comfortable.
In our blog how snug should a bracelet fit around your wrist you can read how to check the fit in the first week.
Which bead size looks good on a wide wrist?
With a wide wrist, it is all about proportion.
Larger beads give a bold look
A bracelet with very fine beads quickly gets lost on a wide wrist. Beads of 6 millimetres, like on the Saturn Large, suit it better. The bracelet then looks sturdy and in proportion with your wrist and hand.
Mind the space on the inside
Large beads do take up more space on the inside. A bracelet with 6 millimetre beads therefore feels tighter than a fine bracelet of the same length. Unsure about the fit? Then choose a fine beaded bracelet of 3 or 4 millimetres and stack several.

How do you stack bracelets on a wide wrist?
A stack turns a wide wrist into a beautiful stage for your jewellery.
Work with three to five bracelets
A wide wrist has more room. Three to five bracelets side by side look very natural there. Start with a sturdy base, such as a tennis bracelet or bangle. Then add beaded bracelets in one or two colours.
Use the Mix & Match idea
The Mix & Match concept is the heart of the brand. The founders came up with it so you can freely combine all bracelets with each other. That way you build a stack step by step that suits your wrist and your style. In the women's bracelets you will find beads, bangles and tennis bracelets that you can mix freely.
Does a single bracelet feel a bit loose? Then wear it between two tighter bracelets. You can read more tips in our blog what to do if your bracelet is too big.

Frequently asked questions about bracelets for a wide wrist
I'm happy to answer a few frequently asked questions:
From what size do you have a wide wrist?
If your wrist measures more than 18 centimetres, your wrist is wider than average.
Does a fine bracelet not suit a wide wrist?
A fine bracelet certainly looks lovely, but it gets a little lost. So it is best to wear it in a stack with one or two sturdier bracelets.
Which bangle size do I choose for a wide wrist?
Usually choose size L of 19.5 centimetres. Measure your hand too, because a bangle has to go over your knuckles.
Does a stretchy bracelet stretch out faster on a wide wrist?
Elastic stretches out faster if you often pull it wide. So roll a stretchy bracelet gently over your hand and don't pull on the elastic.
